BetterFedFoods Opens National Corporate Office
BetterFedFoodsTM held a ribbon cutting on Thursday, August 10, as it opened its national corporate office in Overland Park, KS.
About 60 beef producers, representatives from state and federal government, business leaders, and non-profits learned more about the BetterFedFoods’ model of better-for-you foods.
BetterFedFoods founder Bernie Hansen told the crowd about sustainable farming methods using microalgae-based products on land and soil to produce better results, and then tracking them to create value-added products and producer premiums.
Bill O’Neill, CEO of Bion Environmental Technologies, which finishes cattle sustainability by recapturing waste streams like ammonia, carbon, water and other recyclables, announced that Bion and BetterFedFoods have signed a Letter of Intent to partner in their efforts to create a better food system.
The guest of honor was U.S. Congressional Representative Sharice Davids, who announced her support of BetterFedFoods and examine paths to federal support of BetterFedFoods and similar programs. Other speakers included Overland Park Mayor Curt Skog, OS Chamber CEO Tracey Osborne Oltjen, and others.
Emcee Ron Allen of BetterFedFoods announced the company’s intention to hire up to 75 staff members in the next three years to work with beef producers throughout the country.


Check Presentation to Oregon Dairy
BetterFedFoodsTM presented Oregon Dairy of Lititz, PA, with its second Climate Smart Premium for implementing sustainable practices at its Lititz, PA, dairy farm. Oregon Dairy has a line of Omega-3 milk developed through feeding Great O Plus to its herd. BetterFedFoodsTM rep, Paul Rosenberger, presents the check to Oregon Dairy owners, George Hurst, Vic Hurst and Jon Hurst.
